WNBA star Caitlin Clark earned six figures for a half-hour virtual engagement, more than her annual salary.
After being drafted first overall, the Indiana Fever point guard adjusted to professional life in a historic rookie season. In her first season in Indianapolis, the 22-year-old broke many records and won Rookie of the Year.
The former Iowa college star has reportedly booked six 30-minute virtual speaking gigs for $100,000 each. According to Clutch Points, she earned $600,000 in 30 minutes from these appearances, more than her WNBA base salary.
In addition, Clark has lucrative deals with Gatorade, State Farm, and Nike worth $28 million over eight years. President Biden said of the child's base salary: "Women in sports inspire us and push new limits.
"But she also has millions and millions of dollars in endorsements, and actually because she’s declared to become pro, her endorsements are higher in dollar value – she has a global platform now, not just a U.S. platform, so she’s going to do just fine as well."
Of the Indiana Sky ace's league impact, she added: "She's amazing. He brought a lot of new fans to the league with his huge following. Our historic season in attendance and viewership includes Caitlin, Angel Reese, Rickea Jackson, and Cameron Brink.
This rookie class will be discussed a generation from now. Leagues never focus on one player. One player could get hurt, etc. Just to acknowledge that sports fans watch for compelling content and rivalries, and one person can't do that."
