Lamar Jackson explains why he doesn't want to be Josh Allen's friend

The Baltimore Ravens (12-5) vs. Buffalo Bills (13-4) game this weekend is possibly the most important NFL playoff clash. Without a question, the game will showcase the weekend's most important quarterback showdown between Josh Allen of the Bills and Lamar Jackson of the Ravens.

The public's opinion of which quarterback is more worthy of receiving the award will be greatly influenced by this tilt, since Allen and Jackson are the front-runners for NFL MVP. With a 35-10 victory over the Bills in September, Jackson has a 3-1 record versus Allen overall.

Even though Jackson and Allen are regarded as two of the greatest quarterbacks of their generation, Jackson made it apparent that he and Allen would not be hanging out in the offseason anytime soon. Despite being in the same generation, they are mostly rivals vying for the same prize.

"Is Josh Allen here? According to Pro Football Talk, Jackson remarked, "I don't know, I probably saw Josh early on in my career, going to events, like around Super Bowl time and stuff like that."

"I don't really get out with other quarterbacks or anyone else during the offseason. We are in competition with one another, but don't get me wrong, there isn't a problem. My goal is to defeat you. I have no intention of being your friend.

Jackson did observe that his way of thinking is something that he and Allen may discuss in jest later.

"It's serious right now, but when we're older, we'll probably laugh about it," Jackson remarked. "I ain’t laughing with you."

It's serious, Jackson is right. In their stellar careers, he and Allen have yet to appear in the Super Bowl, and now they are preventing one another from doing so.

The Ravens are a slim 1.5-point favorite over the Bills, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, even though the game will take place at Highmark Stadium in Buffalo.
