Denim Richards on 'Yellowstone' After Colby's Death, Thanks Fans for "Outpouring of Love"

The return of Yellowstone was wild. We've seen Beth go insane over her father's death, Rip drop everything to be with her, Kayce revert to his covert military ways, and Jamie remain the squirrely, weak man he always was. Other than core characters, Season 5 Episode 12 forced a surprise goodbye.

Take a step back. In an earlier episode, Colby and Teeter talked on the phone while Teeter helped with the herd in Texas. After the call, Colby confessed his love.

Teeter made sport of it and teased him, then said it back. That scene seemed random until the episode ended and the camera panned back to the ranch.

Colby heard Carter request help when he entered the barn. As a wise cowboy, Colby knew how to save Carter. He was kicked in the chest by the horse while helping. Anyone who knows how hard horses kick knew Colby's fate.

A hose went over the door to top off an angry horse's water. Fans commented on Taste of Country's episode recap: "Why take the bucket to the hose... ridiculous." Not even the kid would go deep into a stall with that horse. Someone wondered when we started putting water buckets behind stalls.

However, Colby actor Denim Richards is grateful for his Yellowstone experience. After the episode, he posted on Instagram Stories, “Very humbled by the amazing outpouring of love from all of the amazing fans of Yellowstone.”

You're why we're #1. Growing with “Colby” has been an honor, privilege, and testament to Taylor's writing and world-building. A once-in-a-lifetime chance.

So thank you, Taylor, for trusting an unknown actor in 2017. This has transformed my life. Colby may vanish, but Denim remains! Much love and thanks.”
